If you are involved in Special Olympics or have been for any length of time, my guess is you probably have a t-shirt that proves it. In fact, I would bet that most of us in Special Olympics New Mexico have stacks of Games and Event t-shirts that we have collected over the years. This past weekend our Four Corners Invitational shirt was a hit, and I believe this is why.

Everyone had a blast at the Four Corners Invitational this past weekend! As one of SONM's largest state competitions, the Four Corners Invitational brought almost 1,000 athletes to Farmington. All athletes and Unified Partners brought their "A Game" to the Unified Golf, Aquatics and Unified Softball events - which resulted in lots of medals!

Our athletes would never have had the opportunity to compete and be celebrated without our community partners - thank you for improving the quality of life for our athletes!

In the last edition of the SO Brief, Randy (via her blog) invited athletes, Unified Partners, and volunteers to take Unified Selfies at the Four Corners Invitational. REMINDER: 2016 LETR Games - Softball Challenge

Our 2nd annual Softball Challenge is set for Saturday, Sept. 24th at Los Altos Softball

Fields from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Eight teams have entered from numerous LETR agencies for a one-day double elimination tournament to raise "fun" and funds for Special Olympics! Don't miss out. We would like to extend an extra special "thank you" to Blake's Lotaburger who provided over 1,400 meals to Special Olympics athletes, volunteers, and families this past weekend at the Four Corners Invitational.

A special thanks to Geri Farragher and Paul Choman of Blake's for making it all happen. Special Olympics athletes love Blake's Lotaburger - not only are the burgers delicious, they help keep our athletes fueled so they can play the sports they love most!
