Thank You Something Special Dinner & Auction Sponsors!

We had an amazing time at the Something Special Dinner & Auction last weekend. The event was fun-filled, with lots of Special Olympics athlete representation, a beautiful venue and some great auction items.

However, none of this would have been possible without our fantastic sponsors! Thank you.

Special Olympics NM and Community Partners Raise $68,852 at Something Special Dinner & Auction

On June 25th, Special Olympics New Mexico athletes and families, and over 300 supporters from the New Mexico community gathered at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort & Spa for the Second Annual Something Special Dinner & Auction.
Push-up Contest

The event, presented by New Mexico Chevy Dealers, showcased the unique abilities of Special Olympics athletes through a Rhythmic Gymnastics performance and a Special Olympics push-up contest.

Thanks to generous donors from all over New Mexico, we were able to auction off over 100 silent and live auction items.

"The fun at the end of the night was proportionate to the time and effort our committee put into the preparation," stated SONM Executive Director Randy Mascorella. "SONM is deeply grateful to those who donated auction items and to all those who purchased them to help us further our mission."

The funds raised during this event go directly to SONM's sports programs and initiatives, which work towards building inclusive communities, transforming lives through sports, and improving the quality of life for our athletes.

Photos from the event are soon to come!
Rude Boy Cookies and SONM join forces in July for Cookies for a Cause

Throughout the month of July, Rude Boy Cookies and Special Olympics New Mexico will partner for Rude Boy's Cookies for a Cause program. Rude Boy Cookies will be putting Special Olympics New Mexico's logo on two of their classic cookies every day during July and one dollar from every Special Olympics cookie sold will be donated back to SONM.

This is the first-ever partnership between Rude Boy Cookies and Special Olympics New Mexico, but as a loyal supporter of SONM, Rude Boy Cookies owner Mike Silva is excited and enthusiastic about the month-long promotion.

"Rude Boy Cookies is proud to partner with SONM for our Cookies For A Cause program," stated Silva. "One of the foundations of our business is to do our part to make a difference in Albuquerque.  We're excited to help SONM raise funds for their programs."

Special Olympics New Mexico hopes to spread the word about its mission and programs with a sweet treat that everyone loves, while also building a partnership with a fantastic local business.

"We are very excited about the potential that this Cookies for a Cause Campaign has," stated Erin Gallegos, SONM Communications Manager. "Rude Boy Cookies is a great business to support and we are looking forward to getting the community involved in this mutually beneficial campaign."

Stop by Rude Boy Cookies at 115 Harvard Dr SE all month long for a good cookie and a good cause!
