2016 State Summer Games - Where the Force is With You

This year's State Summer Games theme is literally out of this world...it's STAR WARS! On May 20-22, SONM athletes, volunteers and spectators will be a part of the 2016 State Summer Games "Where the Force is With You." You can expect to see lightsabers and droids, and this awesome games logo!

The 2016 Golf Classic is SOLD OUT!

Thanks to our amazing supporters and sponsors, and a fantastic committee, the 2016 Golf Classic, which will take place on July 11, is officially sold out! We apologize if you were not able to get a team in this year. If you are interested in securing a spot for 2017, please call our office at 505-856-0342 and we can give you information about next year's event.

If you were hoping to do something fun for a good cause this summer, don't fret! We have our Something Special Dinner & Auction on June 25, an event that is equally as fun and also benefits SONM. Learn more HERE.  
Run the Mother's Day 5K and support SONM!   

Join us for the 2016 Mother's Day 5K! This Mother's Day Race is a 5K Run & Fitness Walk and a 1K Kids Fun Run! The event will be held on the scenic Albuquerque Academy cross country course on May 8th! The morning will be filled with music, raffles, and fitness for all levels of athletes! And the best part is that a portion of the race proceeds will go to Special Olympics New Mexico.

Two more weeks to visit Humble Coffee Company for Autism Awareness Month
 
April is Autism Awareness Month and Humble Coffee Company is partnering with SONM all month long! Every Friday throughout April, Humble will donate a percentage of their sales to SONM. Not to mention they are using limited edition blue cups for to-go drinks all month.
 
Stop by Humble Coffee located at Montclaire and Lomas any Friday this month, support a great local business and SONM at the same time!

We are sad to announce that Jayne Thurman, our Director of Volunteer Affairs, will be leaving Special Olympics New Mexico to pursue a new career opportunity. Jayne gave eight wonderful years of hard work and dedication to our athletes and mission, and we are truly sad to see her go. We wish you luck Jayne, and we will miss you!



 
Law Enforcement Torch Run News! 
 
Claim Jumper Tip-A-Cop

The Law Enforcement Torch Run takes protect and serve to a whole new level at a Tip-A-Cop fundraiser. On Thursday, April 21st from 5pm - 9pm, U.S. Probation officers will serve as hosts and waiters, and all tips they receive will be donated to Special Olympics. Texas Roadhouse Tip-A-Cop

Join us on Thursday, April 21st at Texas Roadhouse (2200 E Lohman Ave) in Las Cruces for our annual Tip-A-Cop for Special Olympics hosted by Las Cruces Police Dept. and Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department. Sadies Tip-A-Cop

On Saturday, April 23rd, LETR Santa Ana Police Department and the SONM Rio Rancho Rockets invite you to come out and support the Special Olympics with a Tip-A-Cop at Sadies! Come out to Sadies at the Santa Ana Star Casino and have a delicious meal as officers from the Santa Ana PD serve as celebrity hosts and hostesses!
