7-Eleven employees beat fundraising goal AGAIN - $32,000 raised for Special Olympics in six weeks

It takes a very special partnership between two extraordinary organizations to produce back-to-back successful fundraising campaigns. 7-Eleven staff and leadership have proven just how big of an impact a company and its employees can have on our community by working together.

On Friday, May 22, 2015 during the grand opening of a new Westside convenience  store, representatives from 7-Eleven presented LETR and SONM representatives with a check for $32,000.  This remarkable donation was the result of a six week campaign involving the sale of torch run icons ($1 each) from every 7-Eleven store in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho.

A very special thank you to the employees and management of 7-Eleven stores for their tireless efforts to raise more awareness and funds for our Special Olympics athletes. Please help us by visiting your local 7-Eleven and thanking their staff while you gas up and pick up a Slurpee.

Visit the Bloodmobile at Summer Games!

On Saturday, May 30th, SONM will once again be teaming up with United Blood Services to offer the Special Olympics Blood Drive at the State Summer Games. The Blood Drive will take place from 8:30 am- 2:00 pm in the parking lot south of the UNM Track and Field Stadium.

Find the hero in you and sign up to donate - up to three lives can be saved for every one donation, and your donation can potentially aid many of our athletes who experience medical issues. To sign up, contact Christine Roybal at 505-856-0342 or visit  www.unitedbloodservices.org and enter the sponsor code: SO. Be sure to bring a photo ID!

New! United Blood Services can now accept a Fast Track Ticket from some mobile devices (smartphones or tablets) as long as their staff can scan the barcode from the ticket. Simply complete the health history questionnaire on your mobile device and bring the device with you when you donate. Or, you can still complete the questionnaire on your computer, then print and bring the Fast Track Ticket with you.

See you this Saturday!
