Thoughts From Randy
Themes and Dreams

Each year we select a theme for our State Summer Games.  This year's theme is "DREAMS MADE HERE."

I often wonder if during the course of their lives our athletes are ever asked what their dreams are.  I decided to take it upon myself to ask a number of them  about their dreams.  I am happy to share their responses with you.

Dreams Made Here: 2015 State Summer Games theme!

We are happy to announce that this year's State Summer Games theme is "Dreams Made Here" -  we invite you to be a part of these games!

The 2015 State Summer Games will take place from May 29-31 and it is our hope that Dreams are Made on the track, the bocce courts, the soccer field and the volleyball courts!

Law Enforcement Torch Run News!

URAA News for LETR!

Calling All Law Enforcement!

The 2015 Special Olympics Summer World Games will begin when the cauldron is lit at the Opening Ceremonies in Los Angeles. This year, for the first time, YOU can be a part of this historic event by carrying the torch as the Flame of Hope travels across our country in the Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America presented by Bank of America.

In celebration of the dedication that Law Enforcement has shown Special Olympics over the last 34 years, Special Olympics is offering the opportunity for Law Enforcement to help deliver the Flame of Hope to the Los Angeles for only $100 (a value of $1000).

Registration is easy, just follow the steps below:
1. Visit www.unifiedrelay.org
2. Select your state from the "Register Now" drop down button
3. Choose "RELAY PROMO Participant"
4. Go through the registration process and choose your day/time and preferred location
5. When you are prompted to pay, enter "LETR" as the promotional code and watch your $1000 registration fee drop to $100 (this includes the cost of your t-shirt)

Your family and friends can use this code too and you can run as a team. Once you've registered, don't forget to set up your fundraising page and spread the word about the Unified Relay!

Remember, if you raise $1500 you get to keep the torch you ran with!

Torch Run Kicks Off Annual Statewide Relay for Special Olympics New Mexico

In the spirit of the Olympics, and with the purpose of raising funds and awareness for people with intellectual disabilities, the New Mexico Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics has kicked off its 2015 State Relay run.

From May 12 - 29, over 70 law enforcement agencies-making up hundreds of LETR officers, friends and family members- will carry the Special Olympics Flame of Hope torch covering 1,600 miles across New Mexico culminating at the Special Olympics New Mexico Summer Games in Albuquerque on May 29th. The State Relay currently has several starting points which are changeable as the Torch Run grows. At the completion of each route, a celebration will take place within an agency's respective community where officers and citizens rally in honor and support of Special Olympics New Mexico athletes competing in the 2015 State Summer Games. Click HERE for route details and participating LETR agencies.
