There's an interesting challenge floating around out there.  Not sure who started it or why, but the question posed to all of us is "Can you be happy for 100 days in a row?" Apparently 715 of those people who have tried to complete the challenge have failed. Their reason - lack of time.  They simply did not have enough time in the day to be happy.

 

 
Mountain States Insurance Group returns as State Summer Games Presenting Sponsor! 
 
For the 15th year in a row, Mountain State Insurance Group will return as the Presenting Sponsor of SONM's State Summer Games! Mountain States has provided both monetary and volunteer support for our Games and our organization. They will return as escorts for our pentathletes. 
 
"Mountain States considers it a privilege to sponsor the State Summer Games for the last 15 years," said Mountain States Representative Melba Baum. "Our employees and family members look forward every year to running the pentathlon event. It allows us to get out on the field, in the middle of the action, and interact with the athletes on a very personal level.  We love it!"

 

 Mountain States Insurance Group's continued involvement has furthered both the personal and professional development of SONM's athletes. Their Presenting Sponsorship and volunteer involvement has allowed our Summer Games made their partnership invaluable. Their presence is always noticed and greatly appreciated. 
Unified Team Bowling Tournament - a great success!

The second annual Unified Team Bowling Tournament, which took place last Saturday at
 Santa Ana's Starlight Lanes, was a great success! The tournament brought together 26
 more teams than last year, growing notably in size, and also in fun! There were awards to be presented, celebrations to be had, and most importantly friendships to be made! Thanks to all the athletes, Unified Partners, and coaches who made this tournament possible!

NORTHWEST Region Chili's Tip-A-Cop next weekend

On Friday, April 4th, NORTHWEST Region LETR officers will be hosting a Chili's Tip-A-Cop in Farmington. Don't miss your First Responders taking some time off the street to help serve you in a friendly way!

Farmington Police Department will be at the Chili's at 4915 E. Main St. from 11 am until 10 pm. Stop by and enjoy some great food - all while supporting Special Olympics New Mexico athletes! For more information, contact Shawn Archuleta at sarchuleta@fmtn.org or 505-320-7347. 
2014 Golf Classic Registration now open!  
 
Registration for the 2014 Golf Classic is now officially open! The Golf Classic will take place on July 14th at the scenic Paa-ko Ridge Golf Club at 9 am. We have a limited number of spots for the tournament, so make sure to mark your calendars and get signed up soon! Representatives from UNM Athletics and Special Olympics athletes will be in attendance, don't miss it! To register a team, contact Christine Sandoval at christine@sonm.org or 505-856-0342. 

Make sure to save the date for the 2014 Dinner & Auction as well, which will take place on July 19th  at the Embassy Suites at Woodward Pl. This year's Dinner & Auction promises to be a night to remember! For ticket information, contact Jayne Thurman at jayne@sonm.org or 505-856-0342. 

Both the Golf Classic and the Dinner & Auction are presented by the New Mexico Chevrolet Dealers.
