Thoughts From Randy
All Four

A few months ago I read an article that detailed four ways to leave a legacy.  At first glance I thought it was going to be one of those "easy ways to accomplish great things by following a few simple steps."  This time, however, I was pleasantly surprised and found nothing easy about it.

The author shared that whether we are intentional or not, every single one of us is going to leave a legacy and that how we will be remembered has everything to do with how we are living every day.  Here is my summary of his thoughts.

A one of a kind night

If we still haven't sold you on going Over the Edge...you can support SONM nullby attending a unique and inspiring speaking event on the evening of September 20th. Craig DeMartino - renowned climber and motivational speaker - will hold an exclusive speaking engagement for Special Olympics New Mexico. What makes him so special? He also led the first All-Disabled Ascent of El Capitan last year, with his disabled climbing mates Pete Davis and Jarem Frye.

 Bosque Running Shop gives back

The 4th annual Rio Grande Half Marathon presented by Bosque Running Shop welcomednull300 runners to the beautiful trail right along the Rio Grande River - 30 of which were Special Olympics New Mexico athletes and families! The run, in its 4th year, donates a portion of its registration fee to SONM every year.

"The run is growing," said Likaya Dayile of Bosque Running Shop. " I hope that next year we are able introduce the SONM athletes and families who participate in the race in front of the other runners. It is nice for people to see the Special Olympics involvement in the race and see what a portion of their registration fee is going towards."

SONM would like to thank Bosque Running Shop and Likaya for their generosity towards the organization and for this year's contribution from the Rio Grande Half Marathon.
