Thoughts From Randy
Reciprocity

As I walked around this year's State Summer Games observing how our theme "WE ARE"  was showing up - I saw a lot of WE ARE RECIPROCITY.   It's not a word I use very often, but it was happening at these Games -  a lot of mutual exchange.

LETR News!

Another shout out to 7-Eleven!  New!

This April, 7-Eleven raised $16,366 selling Torch Icons in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. The funds raised go directly towards supporting Special Olympics sports programs in New Mexico.

To thank 7-Eleven for their amazing performance this year, World and National Games athlete Abe Assaad accepted the check presented by 7-Eleven Region Manager Eric Corley.

Another successful Torch Run across New Mexico!

This past May you may have watched and rooted from your car, or from the bleachers of the UNM Track and Field Complex, as  New Mexico Law Enforcement Torch Run (NMLETR) officers carried the Flame of Hope covering over 1,600 miles across New Mexico roads for Special Olympics.

On May 20th NMLETR agencies from eight Torch Run regions donned the official 2013 Torch Run shirt, which not only symbolizes Torch Run's current campaign year, but lists supporting law enforcement agencies and community partners. Officers ran through towns and desert highways, often chanting their cadence: "Everywhere we go. People want to know. Who We are...We are the Torch Run. The mighty, mighty Torch Run."

As Guardians of the Flame, our Torch Run agencies and officers are unmatched in their potential to raise awareness and funds for SONM's athletes and sports program. Their success comes from being "one" in heart and mind under the mission of the Torch Run.

On behalf of the NMLETR Executive Council, a huge thank you to all our LETR officers, commanding officers, families, and fans for supporting our athletes.
