Thoughts From Randy
WE ARE
The theme for this year's State Summer Games is "WE ARE." It's a fairly po pular theme these days, I guess because it allows anyone to complete the statement in any way they choose to identify with it. As I have driven our state from Carlsbad to Taos the past couple weeks, it's been fun hearing what our athletes, coaches, volunteers, etc. are coming up with. My favorites include WE ARE SPORTS, WE ARE STRONG, WE ARE CHAMPIONS, and with a smile -WE ARE Open for Business.

LETR News! New!
Our New Mexico Law Enforcement Torch Run (NMLETR) for Special Olympics received a huge boost in the efforts to raise funds for Special Olympics. On May 7th, NMLETR Premier-Level Community Partner, 7-Eleven, announced a total of $16,303 raised from their month-long April 2013 campaign--selling Torch Icons to patrons at Albuquerque and Rio Rancho locations.
Clearly a testament to the passion and devotion of 7-Eleven leadership and store representatives, the campaign received an 14% increase in donations from it's $14,292 raised in 2012.
