Physical Literacy Matters
Entrenching Healthy Habits in
Canadian Children and Youth

How do you sum up one year's worth of a program's efforts and the impressions those efforts made? How do you capture all of the hurdles you experienced as well as the methods you employed to continue pushing beyond them? Most importantly, how do you acknowledge and report on the impact you had on your short- and long-term goals?

The team at 60 Minute Kids' Club (60MKC) - everyone from the volunteers to the sponsors - is focused on measuring, assessing, tracking, and reporting in everything that we do. We want to know if we are hitting our targets. Not just our participation targets, but also our impact targets.

Making Movement Matter
with West Vancouver

The West Vancouver School District (WVSD) is putting physical literacy on the same footing as literacy and numeracy. By supporting its teachers to make physical literacy a higher priority in classrooms, the school district is helping children to become more confident movers.

Taking a new approach to an old concept, WVSD is focusing less on physical education and more on how to get kids moving in all kids of settings throughout their daily routine. WVSD continues to implement Long-Term Athlete Development, with a focus on physical literacy, as laid out in the District Literacy Plan
