Inspirational Communities

Hello CS4L Community Champions!

It's an exciting time to be a CS4L Community with so many passionate individuals involved and so many emerging funding opportunities for communities in the physical activity, sport, recreation, and health sectors!

We understand that it can also be a little intimidating to know where to start. That's why we would like to share with you some examples of projects and funding applications from our CS4L communities to help you get started.

PISE is Breaking Down Barriers

Children and youth in Victoria are now benefiting from three new Physical Literacy Programs run by PISE (Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence).

PISE is using their CS4L Community grant to develop physical literacy in aboriginal children and adapted populations and removing the barriers that may otherwise prevent them from gaining access to physical literacy and quality sport.

Edmonton is Championing Cross-sectoral Collaboration

Residents of the Edmonton region are now benefiting through the Canadian Sport for Life Community Connections initiative "PLAY GREAT" (Physical Literacy And You: Greater Edmonton Area Team).

Physical Literacy And You is changing systems by creating a platform for interested partners from health, education, recreation, sport and other sectors to work together to promote, implement and evaluate programs, services, amenities and policy which increase physical literacy and advance Canadian Sport for Life in the Edmonton region.
