Happy 15th Anniversary to the Malone Store!
Our Malone store is celebrating our 15 year anniversary. Dave Bruso (Store Mgr), Linda White (Asst. Mgr.) and Harley Titus (Yard Mgr), were there from day 1 from our grand opening back in the year 2000 and are still with us today. Shortly after opening, Derrick Manson (Sales) joined our team, followed by Mickey (Est Mgr) and Sharron (Est Asst) Manson and Jeff Gonyea (Receiver). The store employees 20 full time and part time employees.
Jay Ward (President) said "The fact that so many of our team members in Malone are still part of our employee family is a testament to the leadership of our management team with Dave and Linda at the helm. With the continued commitment of our entire Malone team and community support, we will celebrate many more anniversaries in the future."
Dave Bruso said "Since we opened, we listened to our customers and they have helped us understand how to better serve their needs. We now offer a higher grade of spruce (premium), expanded our feed department and most recently added sheet vinyl flooring and berber carpeting because of their feedback. We thank our community for all of the feedback, support and patronage over the years. We have amazing customers and we will continue to work hard to serve your needs."

Welcome Back Frank Denchick
 If you have stopped into the Jay Store lately, you may have recognized Frank Denchick (Sales). Frank worked at our former Plattsburgh location starting in the year 2001, and left Ward Lumber when the store closed. We are very pleased to have him back working at Ward Lumber in Jay! Frank has many years of experience working in the construction industry. He started doing carpentry at the age of 15, working on jobs with his father in Minerva. After moving to Plattsburgh, he continued doing small construction jobs on a part-time basis and occasionally still does. Frank is also CBMS certified (Certified Building Materials Specialist). This experience, along with 14 years working in our industry, make him a valuable asset to our team our customers.

The sports world celebrated in the spring of 2015 when American Pharoah became the first horse in 37 years to capture thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown - just the 12th horse in history to accomplish the feat. Can you name the only Triple Crown winner to sire another? It was Gallant Fox (1930), who sired Omaha (1935). Both were trained by Jim Fitzimmons, the only trainer with two Triple Crowns. The only jockey with two was Eddie Arcaro, aboard Whirlaway in 1941 and Citation in 1948.
Can you name the first driver to complete auto racing's own version of the Triple Crown, winning the Daytona 500, the Indianapolis 500, and the Formula One championship during his career? It was the legendary Mario Andretti - Daytona in 1967, Indy in '69 and the Formula One crown in '78. How about this one: Identify the only two NASCAR races which feature right turns as well as left. They are Watkins Glen and Sonoma.
