The Remodeling Continues in Jay

The Ward Lumber store in Jay was built nearly 50 years ago. In many ways little had changed in the store layout until last year. Now we're renovating at the Jay store again.

Here Jon Capen removes a chimney that was part of the original building. With the installation of two new high efficiency propane furnaces a couple of years ago the chimney is no longer needed. Which in part allows us to open more floor space. Stay tuned...

Festool now at the Jay Store!
Here's what a Festool customer is saying!

Ben Riddering is a custom furniture designer and builder using mostly reclaimed materials. In this video, Ben describes how his passion and ideals for fine woodworking parallels those of Festool for power tools made to a higher standard.

At first, Ben was concerned that the price of Festool was high, but quickly realized after using his first Festool, the TS Tracksaw, that the quality and versatility offered by Festool was uncompromising. He found that what Festool does with power tools is much like what he does as a producer of furniture. He builds furniture that''s unique and made with high quality; choosing to work for those clients that prefer quality, rather than something that''s mass produced.

With Festool, Ben is able to do things in his small shop without the use of large stationary equipment. He learned that a single Festool can replace multiple conventional power tools, allowing him to take the tool to the work rather than the materials to the tool. To quote Ben, he said, "If you show me a tool that performs well, saves time and takes up less space, now you''ve got my attention".

Festools are worth every penny... They save you time and money... so much so that they will pay for themselves.

Jay Ward's

How critical are turnovers when it comes to success in the NFL? Extremely - and even more so when it comes to betting the games. Over the 20 years preceding 2013, teams that had just one less turnover than their opponents covered the spread more than 67% of the time. The odds grew to more than 80% with two fewer turnovers, almost 89% for a differential of three, almost 93% for four and almost 96% for five or more.

The Red Sox made their own charge into the 2013 playoffs sporting facial hair that made them look like a band 19th Century dandies. Such was not always the case. In 1968, major league officials actually voted to ban facial hair. The ban lasted only two seasons, and by the early 1970s the rollicking Oakland A's displayed muttonchops and mustaches galore. But for some six decades prior, there was virtually no facial hair in the majors, in part because Gillette became a major sponsor early in the 20th Century. Still is.
