On January 12th, 2016, sweet Kate Rhoades lost her life at just four and a half years old to leukemia. Kate's passing has been very hard for us, and we are jumping in the Polar Dip this year in her memory. We are blessed and honored to have Kate's dad, uncle and aunt jumping with our team. We are doing what we can to raise money to send children battling critical illness for a week of respite to Camp Sunshine. This camp has changed the lives of families and children who have attended! Please, we are humbly asking for your support of our 12 team members on Saturday, February 6th. We would like to beat what we raised and donated last year, which was a little over $5000. We are close, but not there. We will enter everyone who donates into one of two drawings: one for a Signature Facial and the other for wash and blowouts for a year (a package of 12). Our February community outreach partner will be Ellie's Hats. Ellie's Hats was inspired by a local, spunky red-headed girl named Ellie Whitfield. The mission of Ellie's Hats is to provide hats to children battling cancer to give them a way to express their personalities through their hats. Additionally, Ellie's Hats provides gift cards and other help to local families battling cancer, and Ellie's Hats partnered with Team Mathias in 2014 to push the Cure Childhood Cancer Specialty Plates through legislation.
