Judy's Corner

I really love the G.M. Collin's line we carry here at Salon Khouri. This month, I'd love to share their January tips:
"January is the perfect month for everything that is warm and comforting. We simply feel like slipping under a nice duvet quilt or slipping on a warm sweater. January is also the perfect month to choose creams and masks with the most repairing and protecting textures to combat the dry, dehydrated and fragile skin brought about from the extreme cold weather. Cleansing products should be very gentle with a soft texture and without alcohol. Your day cream should protect the skin very well against the cold, UV rays and sensitivity. At night, we need to repair and balance our skin's need for moisture and nutrition. January is an ideal month for creamy and velvety masks that give back suppleness to our skin while calming the taut sensation of dryness."

Boy, what a year 2013 was! We were so blessed to have the opportunity to give back to so many wonderful organizations last year: Homeless Animal Rescue Team, American Heart Association Go Red for Women, Kids Helping Kids Stop Hunger, Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund, Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation and the announcement of the new Crazy Hair Day for Kids' Cancer fundraisers, Our Daily Bread Fairfax, The Truth 365 Dream Team of Pediatric Oncologists, The ART of Driving, Autism Speaks, The Tigerlily Foundation, Pink Hair for Hope, and The LAMB Center of Fairfax, as well as a few others by donating services for auctions.
Homeless Animal Rescue Team
This January, we are choosing again to support the Homeless  Animal Rescue Team. It's such a wonderful organization that works diligently to find the right home for each of their rescued animals.
Read more about HART on our blog, but in the meantime, gaze into the eyes of this adorable little pooch named Dusty. He is begging you with those cute eyes and furry paws to take him home!
