March Recap: Kids Helping Kids Stop Hunger
Thank you to everyone who left their spare change in our collection can at the front for the Kids Helping Kids Stop Hunger Campaign! We also donated $5 from every children's cut for March to this great cause!
April: Get to Know These Farmers
Our April community outreach is two fold. We would like to honor Earth Day by introducing you to several Virginia Farmers who are making a major impact on the way people think about farming. In addition, we will be donating $1 from every haircut in April to help raise money to send someone on scholarship to a Polyface Farm Intensive Discovery seminar. This intensive teaches sustainable farming practices. You can read more, as well as see how you too can donate, via our blog.

Salon News and Updates
March Chili Cook OffWe had our first ever stylist chili cook off at the salon in March. Stylist Kelly Stoneberger's fab recipe won and we begged Kelly to share her recipe:
Ingredients
1.5 to 2 lbs lean ground beef 1 Large can of Hanover Dark Red Kidney Beans 1 Large Jar of Pace Chunky Medium Salsa 1 Tsp. Chili Powder Directions: Brown the meat first and then drain Then mix all the ingredients in a large pot and then bring to a boil stirring occasionally Lower head and let simmer for 30 minutes stirring occasionally Then it is ready to serve! Top with shredded Cheddar cheese and sour cream if you like Summer Hours We are changing our Sunday hours this summer to 10 AM to 3 PM beginning in June.

Salon Khouri Offering Facials in May!
We can't tell you how excited we are to announce that we will be offering facials in early May at Salon Khouri. We are working on the menu which will include an express, a spa, as well as a luxury facial. We don't have all the details for you yet, but will announce them soon via email and on our Facebook page and website.
