Taking time to just ... Be

We've begun our week-long silent retreat at St. Mary Monastery. We gather each day for Liturgy of the Hours and Eucharist, of course. And we gather for conferences (talks presented by our retreat director, Sister Sharon Zayac, OP, to help guide our experience).

But we don't converse with each other. We do a lot of nodding and smiling and patting each others' shoulders instead.

I'll write about the retreat later on, but you can follow the experience on our blog.

I hope you're taking some time this summer to let the Spirit speak to you. Time when no screens are demanding your attention and no speakers are blaring away.

Time when you can just be.

Blessings to you from all your Benedictine Sisters,

Sister Stefanie

P.S. Put our annual Labor Day Discernment Weekend on your calendar for Sept. 5 - Sept. 7. I'll send details later, but it will answer questions about many different kinds of communities, from Benedictine and Franciscan to Trappistine and Dominican. Do try to make it!!!!
