Snowy Pine
Keepin' It Cozy and Warm
February 2015
Slainte !

Although we are halfway through the winter, the chilly weather continues to remind us of its presence. Time to cuddle together and snuggle into our homes. There's nothing wrong with enjoying these frosty days and icy nights. It's a wonderful time to finish up indoor projects, to some cleaning, play games together with the family, catch up on movies, and just enjoy being together. And if you're the brave sort - have a great frolic in the snow.

Diffusing the Winter Blues & Blahs

Although there is an intrinsic charm to cozying up on winter nights, after a while a closed up house can feel... closed.

And with the closed window and doors can come the generous sharing of colds and flus.

Oil of the Robber Clan has many uses. One of my favorites is place  several drops in a diffuser to help brighten and cleanse the air.

With a bright nip of cinnamon and clove, and the earthy richness of thyme and cedarwood, Oil of the Robber Clan helps give an open window feel to a winter closed house. The essential oil blend has many antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties which will aid in defeating those nasty winter colds.

Plus is smells fabulous!

A Kiss of Chamomile
Chamomile is such a happy, pretty little garden gift. I absolutely love the smell of fresh picked chamomile. It has just the slightest little hint of apple.

One of our favorite herb sites, The Essential Herbal Blog, has some wonderful information about this herbalist staple.

Take a pop over and read about the benefits of soothing, healing chamomile tea.

We Give a Howl for
Lakota Wolf Preserve

Last month, with the help of you, our wonderful customers, readers and friends, we were able to make a very nice donation to Rivers Edge Horse Rescue and Sanctuary. We wanted to help Dianne keep these wonderful rescued horses fed and warm.

This month, we'll be helping out The Lakota Wolf Preserve. The majority of the funding for this wonderful organization comes from the tours that they give. But with the ice and snow, they haven't been able to have many tours.

Jim and Becky do an amazing amount of work caring for the wolves and animals under their protection. They give educational tours throughout the year, helping people understand wolves and the place they hold in the environment. But they are also up at the preserve checking on their "kids" during storms, even in the middle of the night. And their home becomes a recover unit when the animals are ill, or when new little ones arrive.

It is evident to anyone who visits their pages or goes to the preserve how much Jim and Becky deeply care about these animals. We want to help them get through the wicked weather, so for every share of our newsletter, every share or like of our Facebook page, every retweet or like of our Twitter feed, every comment, and every order, we'll make a donation to this amazing organization.

Let's do even better for Lakota Wolf Preserve
