It's finally warming up!!!! Hooray April. I'll even take the showers that will bring the May flowers. We've got the start up list of our upcoming fairs and festival, info about Earth, Trees and Herbs, and a spotlight on one of favorite products.

Getting Garden Ready
 Warm and sun - and a winter trashed garden. That means it's time to head out there and get cleaning. As a non-glove wearing gardener, my hands take a brutal beating while I play in the dirt. That's why we made Gardeners Salve. This thick and creamy blend is loaded with many soothing and healing elements: aloe butter, hemp seed oil, comfrey and calendula herb. It's the perfect salve for dry and itchy skin, as well as helping to heal those little scratches and nicks. That you can play in the garden and still take care of your hands.

The fair season has burst upon us!
So many shows - and so much fun!
 Also join is on Sunday, April 26, 2014 as we join in the celebration of the 40th Annual New Jersey Folk Festival! Held on the gorgeous Woodlawn in front of the Eagleton Institute in New Brunswick, this is always a great day! From 10am to 4pm there will be amazing music, demonstrations, crafters, history and more.

April is Getting Green All Over
Spring is finally showing it's beautiful colors, however slowly. Daffodils and hyacinths are blossoming, trees are budding, and the sun is at least trying to shine warmly. No wonder April is filled with celebrations of earth and nature.
First up - Earth Day! For 44 years, nations around the globe have taking at least one day to focus on protecting and strengthening this planet we call home. And with all that focus, maybe it will spread naturally, like the roots of a tree, to more days and to a way of life. We aren't all the way there yet, but this simple idea has helped us move towards more environmental awareness.
One way to help make the world a better place - plant a tree!!!! And what better day to do it than on Arbor Day! Some states celebrate Arbor Day at different times, but here in New Jersey, Arbor Day is the same day as National Arbor Day, April 25th. Volunteer, donate, or just plant a tree on your yard.
 This special day is actually in May, but it is one of my favorites. I even try to celebrate every day. It Herb Day on May 3rd. It's the perfect day to explore new and interesting herbs, plant in your garden, or attend events to learn more about the weeds and plants that give us so much. Go to your favorite herb farm (mine is Well Sweep Herb Farm. I love it there.)
It's a pretty nice planet, let's take some time to celebrate it!
