Well.. We'll Talk a Little About Pumpkin
October is the time of year when everyone joins in on the pumpkin loving hayride. We love pumpkin all year long, that's why we have a number of products that are ripe with the orangey goodness.
Pumpkin is full of Vitamin A, E and C, torulitine and antioxidants. It nourishes your skin while promoting vitamin absorption. The enzymes remove dry, dead skin cells
We take all that goodness and put it in our
and more!
It's October - feel the Pumpkin Love both inside and out!

The Month of the Wolf
October brings in a season of mystery. A wayward chill breeze that stirs the leaves. Nights seem darker, even when there are stars. And there's the call of the wolf from a distant hill.
Of course, you could be by The Lakota Wolf Preserve. This is an amazing facility in Warren county, where you can get a close look at these beautiful animals as they run and play in their packs. Jim Stein and Becky, and a unique group of volunteers run the preserve with a love, passion and dedication that's inspiring.
For the month of October, we will be donating a portion of all proceeds to this wonderful education preserve. We'll also donate for every new like on our Facebook page, and each share of a post and our newsletter. There's no mystery - we're just helping a truly great place.

Snappy Ginger
Autumn's chill is refreshing and inviting. With the brisk air and length ening nights, I find that I crave ginger. Ginger Matte Tea, candied ginger, ginger bread, and so many other tasty treats. It's warming and invigorating, soothing and energizing all at the same time. Ginger helps relieve nausea, gas and cramps. Whenever my stomach is acting up a bit, I eat a little candied ginger. It also reduces pain and inflammation. It's also wonderful for colds, helping to ease coughs and congestion. It really helps calm things down and it's tasty too!
I like to add ginger while cooking too. Some grated ginger in my honeyed glazed carrots really add flavor and snap.
HONEY GINGER GLAZED CARROTS
2 - 3 cups carrots (pre-peeled baby carrots or peeled carrots cut into rounds)
1/2 cup butter
2 to 3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 - 3 tablespoons honey (if you have cinnamon infused honey, that works really well)
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
In a medium skillet, over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the sugar, honey ginger and cinnamon and stir together. When blended, add the carrots. Cover and cook on medium low for about 15 - 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. The carrots should be tender but still a little firm.

October - more than just pumpkins and costumes
October is Autumn, preparing for the dark of the year, gearing up for end of year activities, and enjoying the changing of the seasons. And it's a month with wonderful days to add to your celebration calender. Tuesday, the 15th - National Grouch Day. Here is a day to bring out your inner grouch. Or if you know a particularly grouchy person, just let them grumble away today. Everyone deserves a special day, so let them have theirs. Saturday, the 19th - Sweetest Day. If Grouch Day left you feeling a little gloomy, do something for someone today and expect nothing in return. Do the kind of thing that makes someone say, "That's sweet," and makes them smile. You'll find you smile too. Thursday, the 24th - World Origami Days. If you've ever made a paper airplane - you've made origami. Remember those little paper fortune tellers you used to make in grammar school? Origami. Take some time to learn this ancient art and get folding! Saturday, the 26th - Make A Difference Day. A day of community service and lending a helping hand to your neighbors. You can find local projects on the website, or start one of your own! Tuesday, the 29th - National Cat Day. Give your cat some extra love today. Or adopt one of the many felines available at local rescues. Wednesday, the 30th - Create a Great Funeral Day. Eve rybody has to go sometime, you might as well go the way you'd like. Whether it's solemn and serious, or wild and whacky, let your plans be known. Thursday, the 31st - Halloween. 'Nuff said.
