Volunteer Today!

Volunteering was seen as something teens or retired persons do during their spare time. Since there have been fluctuations in the job market, employers take additional measures to ensure they make the best hire. Simply sending a resume and waiting for a response may not be the answer. You may need to think outside of the box and consider volunteering. 
In fact, volunteering could be an avenue to landing a job, especially if you have little or no work experience. It's a win-win situation for the job seeker as well as the employer.

Sybil Smith Family Village Transitional Housing Program

GENERAL SUMMARY

Dumas Wesley Community Center, a ministry of the United Methodist Church, delivers programs that educate, empower and enrich the lives of families across Mobile. We are looking for an Office Assistant who will report to the director of the Sybil Smith Family Village transitional housing program. At the Village, families live in an environment where they receive the support they need to get back into the work force and into stable housing. 

The Administrative Assistant is an essential part of our team. Primary functions are to greet visitors, answer multi-line phone, respond to callers' inquiries, organize donations and offer case management support. Candidates must have excellent communication and sensitivity skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. In the end, you'll share in the reward of seeing families heal.

Delivery Driver ( FEDEX Job Fair October 21st )-
Will work as a Delivery Driver for FEDEX. This is full-time or part-time position. This can also be a regular part-time to permanent full-time work. Apply in person at the FedEx Office in Prichard, Al. (1814 Berkley Avenue) from 9:00 AM. until 2:00 PM. There will be a Job Fair on Wednesday, October 21st , 9:00 AM. to 3:00 PM. at the Alabama Career Center in Mobile, Al. 

Job Duties:
Duties include working as a Delivery Driver, (regular full-time, part-time, or part-time to permanent work) There is an opportunity to work with a contractor or to become an entrepreneur (contractor). Will deliver packages to businesses and residences.

Specific Skill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:
Requires 6 months of Delivery Driving experience in the last three years or 5 Years of delivery driving in the last 10 years. (Any type of paid delivery driving.) Requires being 21 years old or older. Requires customer service skills. Requires a current, valid driver's license and a clean driving record. A CDL would be a plus. Requires a MVR check, a background check (no felony convictions), a drug screen and a physical. Refer to job order # 1744833 .

Disaster Program Specialist-This Disaster Specialist organizes and facilitates all disaster operations within the 10 counties that surround Mobile. Supports community and labor groups in developing and updating their disaster response plans. Leads, evaluates and provides appropriate development opportunities and recognition of disaster instructors and volunteers. Assigns and coordinates staff members and volunteers on project assignments and plans volunteer related activities as needed. Acts as a program or service subject matter expert (SME) to staff, management, volunteers and external partners. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all American Red Cross finance policies and procedures are followed as related to the scope of work activity. All full time disaster employees must be willing and able to be deployed, as needed. Upon employment, must be able to learn and become proficient in: ARC programs and procedures, Volunteer Management, Financial Management, Cultural Competency, Emergency Management Practices, Community, Government, Partnerships, Supply chain and warehousing, Disaster technical expertise. Aircraft Technologies Engineer-Aircraft Technologies Engineer provides technical and/or team direction to heavy aircraft system design, maintenance, modification and reconfiguration operations. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Aircraft Technology / Aeronautical / Electrical Engineering or Associates Degree with two (2) years of Aircraft Technologies related experience. Credit Analysis Manager - The Credit Analysis Manager will lead a team of geographically dispersed Credit Analysts in the MidSouth region. In addition to the locations listed, other locations within the MidSouth region will be considered. The CAM will be responsible for managing credit analysis activities including ensuring growth, quality and profitability of the portfolio and conducting portfolio credit reviews. This key leadership position will implement tracking and performance processes to ensure compliance with internal credit policy and government regulations. The CAM will develop and deliver reports to senior management and make presentations as needed.
