Super Saturday FREE Income Tax Preparation Day January 31st

EITC Awareness Day:

National Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Awareness Day will be celebrated throughout the United States on January 30, 2015.

  • What is EITC? This is not a new program. It was enacted by Congress in 1975. EITC annually lifts over 6 million people out of poverty each year; more than 3.3 million of them children. EITC was designed to give a financial boast to and improve the lives of working people.

  • EITC Awareness Day is an event organized by the IRS and its partners to educate the public about the EITC and requirements to claim the credit. The goal is to raise awareness of EITC to ensure every qualified worker claims and receives their EITC.

  • EITC could put up to $6,143 into the pockets of eligible taxpayers. Single individuals may also qualify for this credit and receive an additional $496 in tax refund money. This is money taxpayers can use to make their lives a little easier now or money they can put away for a rainy day. But, taxpayers must file and claim the credit to receive it. And, that all begins with awareness of EITC.

Three sites will be available this "Super Saturday" for qualifying taxpayers to visit and take advantage of the opportunity to have their income tax returns filed for free. Those three locations are:
