Development Coordinator

 

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Development Coordinator will work directly with the Development

Director to plan and implement all fundraising strategies including appeals, sponsorships, grants, and special events. In addition, this position will ensure compliance with all funding requirements established by all donors, foundations, institutions, and government entities.

  

Prerequisite Requirements:

  • Experience in non-profit fundraising.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or 3 years of sales, marketing or fundraising experience.
  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to speak publicly in front of large corporate, civic, and church groups to solicit financial and volunteer labor donations
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, plan, organize, and implement multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Command knowledge of web applications, Adobe Suites, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and common non-profit database software.
  • Ability to supervise and direct volunteers.
  • Knowledgeable in communications, social media, sales, and marketing
  • Flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends.
  • Commitment to Habitat for Humanity's mission to serving others.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Implement HFHSWA short and long-term fundraising and marketing plans to meet ongoing operational needs including home sponsorship programs, planned giving, and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop and coordinate donor recognition programs.
  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee all direct donor mailings, appeal letters, newsletters, and donor enhancement mailings as needed
  • Work directly with Development Director to leverage established relationships to cultivate new sources
  • Solicit donors for in-kind support including building materials, office supplies, and administrative and professional services
  • Serve as staff lead in fundraising events and activities and support fundraising components of other departmental programs 
  •  Ensure donor database information is current and accurate. Provide monthly reports and analysis of all fundraising activities to Development Director
  • Occasionally represent the organization on evenings and weekends as required for fundraising events
  • Protect HFHSWA from Liability.
  • Coordinate and manage volunteers

Part Time ReStore Associate

 

Responsibilities

  • Work in all facets of the store; cashier, donation pickups, cleaning, stocking, etc.
  • Work Hours:. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and must be able to work Saturdays.  

Duties:

  • Consistently provide positive customer service
  • Move donations as directed by the ReStore Director
  • Transfer donations to pricing area and purchased items to holding area
  • Straighten and clean displays, restocking of items
  • Operate a cash register
  • Answer telephone and provide store information, directions, etc. to callers
  • Assist in donation pick ups
  • Load and unload vehicles receiving or delivering materials to/from the store
  • Keep up-to-date on methods of pricing, inventory and procedure
  • Direct pricing and operation questions to the ReStore Director or designated staff
  • Regularly communicate with the ReStore Director regarding sales issues and problems

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience working in a retail store is desirable. A good driving record, valid driver's license, strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Port Operative

Will work at the Bulk Material Handling Plant and the McDuffie Coal Terminal. Port Operatives perform a broad range of semi-skilled crafts on rotating shifts under limited supervision, including operating bulk cargo equipment under limited supervision such as mechanical stacker, barge loader and unloader, rail car dumper, front end loader, bobcat and dump truck to move bulk materials to and from storage piles located on port facilities.

 

 

 

Job Duties:

 

Observes gauges and lights on control panels to detect malfunctions of conveyor system or associated machine. Operates and drives mobile stacker/reclaimer or rolling stock under limited supervision in and to designated work areas. Tends mechanical or electrical dumping equipment to dump bulk materials from railcars into bins or onto conveyors for storage, reloading, or further processing. Operates barge loader and unloader under direct supervision. May be required to maintain records of loading, unloading, and movement of storage piles of bulk materials. May assist maintenance personnel in repair of plant equipment. Cleans and equipment, machines, loading and unloading areas, and wharves and piers. Reports malfunction to supervisor. Performs additional work as assigned to include barge draft reading, line handling, and barge clean up duties

 

Specific Skill Requirements and Essential Job Functions:

 

HS Diploma or GED. VALID ALABAMA DRIVER'S LICENCE. Must be able to climb stairs ladders and work above and below ground level. Lift heavy objects and work in inclement weather.
