before attending a job fair.

 

Strategy. Have a plan to connect with employers. Visit companies that you would like to work for  first.  Also, apply for job openings with companies prior to attending the job fair. The prospective employer will have

an opportunity to put a face with the application or resume and possibly discuss specific job opportunities.

 

Think. Don't ask questions that you can find on their website or in printed materials.

 

Observe. Your appearance speaks volumes.

 

Preparation and patience is key. You are not the only person seeking employment. Use the job fair as an opportunity to sell your skills to an employer

The Mobile Bay National Estuary Program  

Community Relations Manager Position

 

 

Position Background:

Promotes wise stewardship of water quality and living resources of Mobile Bay and the Mobile-Tensaw Delta in part by partnering with business leaders and government officials to improve watershed management. This position will play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies to expand these partnerships and increase investment in protecting the estuary. The successful candidate will have a passion for environmental sustainability issues. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field; at least five years community relations experience in devising, formulating and implementing communications/engagement strategies; knowledge of local and regional environmental issues; familiarity with a wide range of communication tools and approaches; demonstrated success in communicating complex issues in an easily understood and engaging way using diverse media channels (print, radio, web, TV, etc.); and excellent written and oral communication skills.
