Greetings!

Life. Hope. Philanthropy. Excellence. In the world of fighting cancer, these four words can be so powerful. That's why we are honoring five people at our Faces of Hope Gala who truly show what it means to celebrate life by helping others, provide hope by overcoming unimaginable obstacles, demonstrate philanthropy through generous support, and strive for excellence in cancer treatment. We invite all of you to help us honor these remarkable people on May 1st for their contributions to cancer support in our community.

All the best,

Volunteer Spotlight: Beatrice Verdi & Phil Kuchinka

Former bandmates and longtime friends Beatrice Verdi and Phil Kuchinka are the Cancer Support Community's musical dynamic duo, bringing the healing gift of song to our karaoke events for several years.

"For someone dealing with cancer, the ability to forget about your stresses for a little while and live in the moment is such a gift," says CscVvsb President Jim Campbell. "That is what Bea and Phil bring every time they visit us."

New Photos: Daniel's Day of Magic

It was a magical afternoon on March 15 when magician Matt Becker came to the Cancer Support Community for Daniel's Day of Magic.

Daniel's Day of Magic was created by the Board of Directors as a tribute to former Board Chair and Cancer Support Community participant Daniel Jacoby's fun-loving adventurous spirit and love of magic.

Many thanks to David Jacoby (Daniel's father) for making this event possible. Thanks also to magician Matt Becker for the dazzling magic show, and National Charity League Vista Robles Chapter for the wonderful face painting.
