Cancer Support on the Airwaves

Karen Eckhardt, VP of Communications and Development, was recently joined by Harriet Wasserman, CSCVVSB Board Member and Participant, on "Locals Only," a radio show on KVTA 1590 AM. Hosted by Kelli McKay, "Locals Only" is a great way to stay informed on community events and resources.

Click here to listen to Karen and Harriet's recent appearance, where they discuss April's upcoming workshops, the Revlon Run/Walk, and the impact that CSCVVSB had on Harriet and her daughter, Nancy, when Nancy was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Many thanks to KVTA and Kelli McKay for giving us air time every month!

"I wish I could do more, but life gets in the way." Legacy Giving

Board Vice-Chair Lisa Allison,
2012 Celebration of Life Honoree,
and a member of the
CSCVVSB Legacy Society

While the economy and the future may seem uncertain, charitable planning can help you stay on track with your goals.

Lisa Allison became a steadfast champion of the Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara seventeen years ago when a close friend was diagnosed with prostate cancer and given months to live. Lisa saw a dramatic change in his outlook when he started attending a CSCVVSB support group. "I saw how much hope this organization gave my friend and his family, and I wanted to give back."

Lisa purchased a life insurance policy naming the Cancer Support Community Valley/Ventura/Santa Barbara as the beneficiary. "I decided to leave a legacy gift because there is so much more I wish I could do now, but life gets in the way. I want to help CSCVVSB continue its important mission beyond my own lifetime," said Lisa.
