Downtown Springfield is aglow for the holidays, and First Friday Art Walk is the life of the party, celebrating the season in 20 participating venues 6-10 p.m. Dec. 4! Enjoy live art demonstrations, artist receptions, live music, Windows on the Walk and incredible creativity in every medium, from ceramics, sculpture and blown glass to painting, drawing, jewelry and more.
Want to make an early night of it? Want to keep the party going after hours? We've got you covered either way. Check our Art Walk map, online and in the center of our print newsletter, for Early Bird and Night Owl locations with receptions starting as early as 5 p.m. or open as late as 1 a.m.

Vote for your favorite(s) by making a donation to charity at that location. We hope to see a frenzy of ballot box stuffing between now and Second Saturday Dec. 12, when the contest ends. Vote early! Vote often! Make a difference for some outstanding local charities, which will receive 100% of funds raised.
We'll announce fundraising totals and name our Windows on the Walk fundraising champion on Monday, Dec. 14

Art Inspired features a quartet of collections from Art Inspired Academy's class, Developing an Art Career, plus a Windows on the Walk entry benefiting Friends of Abilities First. The December exhibition includes works by artists Darrel Howell, Dakotah Mullen, Jessica Winnie and Fontana Young. Plus.

Arts & Letters presents A Day in the Future: Buncha Damn Triangles by Christiano Bellotti for First Friday and Second Saturday in December, plus Upcycled Wonderland, its Windows on the Walk entry benefiting Lost & Found. Also enjoy a musical performance by Maranda Reynolds during the opening reception, 7-10 p.m. Art Walk night.

IdeaXFactory presents Contemporary Ceramic Sculptures by Rodo Padilla, which will be incorporated into IdeaXFactory's Windows on the Walk entry, Peace Through People, benefiting Springfield Sister Cities Association.
Rodo Padilla is a ceramics and bronze sculptor from our sister city Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico, where he maintains a working studio with 24 employees. After graduating as an industrial engineer at University of Guadalajara, he studied ceramics in Japan, Argentina and Italy. Rodo has received Mexico's National Award of Ceramics awards in 1992, 2000, 2003 and 2007, and he is currently represented by Tlaquepaque and Puerto Vallarta galleries.
