2015 Adopt-a-Family Program
Helping St. Louis' most vulnerable refugees
Eritrean refugee child is overcome by the generosity of his Adopt-a-Family gifts.
This holiday season, the Institute seeks holiday sponsors for 40 newly arrived refugee families. Generous families, organizations, companies and groups of friends can share the season's tradition of giving with our community's newest immigrants.
Our 2015 refugee families hail from Syria, Iraq, Bhutan, Burma, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and more. All have experienced extreme hardship, escaping war and persecution. A Birds-Eye View of Ethnic St. Louis
Celebrating our heritage -- past and present
Authors Elizabeth Terry and John Wright will offer an insider's look at Ethnic St. Louis at 3 pm on November 22 at the International Institute, 3401 Arsenal St., St. Louis, MO 63118.
Meet the authors who will share a host of delightful stories and vignettes. The book is a recently published compendium of St. Louis' rich multicultural roots as well as its immigrant landscape of today. Terry and Wright will be introduced by Anna Crosslin, Institute President & CEO. She penned the Introduction to the book.
There is no admission charge. Authors will sign books which can be purchased by cash, check or credit card. The Institute benefits from a portion of each sale.
Books are also available online. Purchase by December 10 to ensure pre-holiday delivery.
