Festival of Nations Draws 150,000

Exploring multicultural St. Louis in Tower Grove Park

 

The Bulgarian Spirit Folk Dance troupe delights 2015 festival-goers at the Enterprise Forest Stage.

 

The 15th annual Festival of Nations held on August 29 and 30 drew its largest crowd ever with Saturday attendance scoring the single day record. At least 150,000 visitors flocked to Tower Grove Park to delight in the sights and sounds of the many nations which represent St. Louis, both past and present.

 

"Everything conspired to be on our side this year," said Anna Crosslin, festival director and president of the host, the International Institute of St. Louis. "While we faced a bit of humidity on Sunday, overall the weekend weather was perfect."

Wells Fargo Presents Gift to Institute

Strengthening multicultural St. Louis

On Saturday afternoon, August 29, Wells Fargo Advisors employees presented a check for $65,000 to the International Institute. The check represents Wells Fargo contributions to the Institute in the past year serving as Presenting Sponsor for the 2015 Festival of Nations. Thanks so much!


New Institute Board Members Elected

Adding to the next generation of leadership

 

Three St. Louisans were recently welcomed to the Board of Directors of the International Institute of St. Louis: Denise Marcilio, VP Division Marketing for Express Scripts; Kathleen Reeves, Corporate Community Relations Officer for Enterprise Holdings; and Alice Tharenos, VP Business Development-Asia for Peabody Energy. They are each serving a three-year term.

 

Board officers are Chair Mary P. Heger, CIO & VP of IT & Ameren Services Center; Vice-Chair Amit Shah, VP & Assistant General Counsel at MiTek Industries; Secretary Fred Berger, President of Riezman Berger PC; and Treasurer Phil Klevorn, SVP Private Wealth Regional Manager for UMB Private Wealth Management.
