First place winners in a hard fought IISTL Trivia competition.
Our 2015 Around the World Trivia Night took place on Friday, March 6 in the gymnasium of our new facility. We had 288 players for the annual event which raised more than $9,000 for our Tao Refugee Resettlement Fund. Dozens of volunteers, mostly from the Institute's Junior Board, helped make the fundraiser a success. It was our largest event to-date, raising $2,500 more than last year's and drawing 40 more guests. Next year's trivia night will be held on April 1, 2016 - save the date!

The International Institute sponsored 596 refugees in 2014. They joined almost 7,600 immigrants and refugees who received services at the Institute last year.
For the first time in years there was not a predominant refugee population. Iraqis formed the largest group at 19%. Somalis dropped to 16%. The largest increase was among Cubans and Congolese.
P. Ariel Burgess, VP and Director of Client Services, is featured speaker at the Institute's March 24 Bagels & Coffee Speaker Series event. She will share details about the lengthy and complex process of refugee resettlement. Ranga Nepal, Institute Quality Assurance Specialist and former Bhutanese refugee, will join her.
Anna Crosslin, Institute President & CEO, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the St. Louis Regional Chamber. She will serve among business, government, and other non-profit leaders to "inspire a greater St. Louis."
For many decades, Crosslin has been active on region-wide development issues, especially the St. Louis Mosaic Project, which aims to make St. Louis "...the fastest growing region for immigrants by 2020." In September 2014 she was awarded the inaugural St. Louis Mosaic Award by the St. Louis Economic Development Partnership.
