Almost 125,000 visitors flocked to Tower Grove Park in South St. Louis City on August 25 and 26 for 2012 Festival of Nations. There they immersed themselves in the many cultures now represented in our region. The crowd is young, diverse, and globally-aware.
Why do our visitors love our festival? The non-stop entertainment, children's activities, and shopping are all rated highly. But the hands-down crowd favorite is our vast array of ethnic food, sold at 50 booths throughout the grounds. Our food vendors receive fantastic revues both at the festival and on websites where "foodies" rate and chat.
Nearly 10% of visitors indicated that they had downloaded our Festival of Nations App - not surprising given the large number of young adults among the crowd. The app, which debuted in 2011, can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android.
