Tower Hill to hold 2nd Annual Winter Carnival

BOYLSTON, Mass.-The recent snowfall will provide a necessary ingredient for Tower Hill Botanic Garden's 2nd annual Winter Carnival on Saturday, February 23, from 10am-4pm. Admission to the Carnival is included with regular admission to the Garden. All kinds of activities--indoors and out--will delight children and families of all ages. Programs will include scavenger hunts, craft sessions, live Alpacas from Great Rock Alpacas of Barre, Mass., outdoor winter games, guided walks focused on finding animal tracks, spotting winter birds, and identifying trees in winter. Visitors will also have the opportunity to create snow sculptures, and snowshoes will be available for rent. Popcorn and hot cider or cocoa will also be available.
Three, 20-minute puppet shows performed by Len Gerwick of Gerwick Puppets will take place at different times through the day, featuring tales from Aesop's Fables including The Dog and His Reflection, and The Country Mouse and the Town Mouse.
Whatever the conditions, Tower Hill's Orangerie, Limonaia, and Winter Garden are always a delight, in addition to the beautiful woodland trails.
The Garden is located at 11 French Drive in Boylston, exit 24 off Route 290. Tower Hill admission is $12 adults, $9 seniors ages 65 and older, $7 for youth ages 6-18. Admission is free for Tower Hill Members, and children under 6.

Tower Hill Botanic Garden is the home of the Worcester County Horticultural Society, incorporated in 1842 for the purpose of "advancing the science, and encouraging and improving the practice of horticulture." Located on 133 acres of garden paradise in bucolic Boylston, Massachusetts, the Garden hosts educational programs, exhibits, shows, and special events throughout the year.
