The Vegetarian Thanksgiving Feast

Are you cooking a traditional Thanksgiving dinner but have guests who don't eat meat? Do you hope to adopt a healthier, more plant-based diet but feel as though this is an impossible goal to accomplish during the holiday season? Then this cooking workshop is for you. There is something for everyone-meat-lovers and vegetarians alike-in this hands-on vegetarian cooking workshop and discussion session. Learn how to make the world's best vegan gravy and mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, and other plump offerings to create your most memorable Thanksgiving feast ever. Please arrive hungry and ready to learn!

Birch Goose Sculpture Workshop

Learn how to transform birch twigs normally relegated to the brush pile into the creative twig bird sculptures often seen at Tower Hill. Decorate your fowl for the holidays with an assortment of evergreen boughs, cones, ribbons and seeds. Best used as an outdoor decoration. Bring pruning shears. All materials provided.

Decorate your Thanksgiving table with the bounty of the season!  We'll use fresh fall flowers, fruits, vegetables, fragrant herbs and seasonal berries combined with preserved leaves to celebrate our National Day of Thanks.

Make a beautiful long-lasting botanical wreath that highlights the variety and splendor of evergreens, many of which are collected from the gardens at Tower Hill. Incorporate accents such as cones, dried berries, gilded twigs, seed pods and ribbon.  Please bring pruning shears and a towel. All materials provided.


 

Weaving a "Glad Tidings" Basket 

Saturday, December 1, 9am-1pm

Learn basket weaving techniques while weaving a "Glad Tidings" basket for the holidays. This is a great basket for holiday gift giving or to use on your holiday table. Choices of dyed reed will be available. Leather bushel handles finish off this special basket. The basket measures 5"x14"x5"H. All materials are provided.
