Give a Gift. Transform a Life.
This holiday season, give people the power to be more than their MS.

Imagine having to give up an activity you love. Far too often, people living with MS have to do just that. If the physical demands do not hold them back, the costs usually do. Meet Arwen, a 35-year-old mother of two with MS, who was able to get back on her skis during her adaptive ski experience at our Squaw Valley Vertical Express.

"I was able to go skiing with my mom and my two kids, and that was amazing. To do something like this, I was so grateful and so happy."

It's because of you that Arwen was able to resume her
passion. With your generosity, we will build a community of people just like her, who are determined to transform challenges into possibilities.

Four-Star Rating for Can Do MS
We have exciting news! Non-profit evaluator Charity Navigator has awarded Can Do MS a four-star rating! This is the seventh time that Can Do MS has earned this top distinction in the last nine years.

"Can Do MS's coveted four-star rating puts it in a very select group of high-performing charities," according to Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. "Out of the thousands of nonprofits Charity Navigator evaluates, only one out of four earns four stars - a rating that demands rigor, responsibility and commitment to openness." Read more.

Pain: A Common and Complex Symptom
It is estimated that approximately 65% of the MS population experiences some form of pain, which is an internal experience that others cannot see. Pain is a complicated symptom to address because it has many causes and many treatment approaches. For these reasons, it is important for people to develop a useful and common vocabulary when discussing pain with their health care team and planning their best course of treatment. Read more.

.

Question:  I was diagnosed with MS in 1996. I feel lucky to still have relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) and to be able to exercise regularly. My question centers on how to find a balance with adequate aerobic exercise when it depletes my energy budget, and I often "pay" for it afterwards. Is there a number of minutes or number of days a week I should do aerobic exercise? I try to be active everyday, with moderate exercise 3-4 days a week. I find that strenuous exercise is really tough, even once or twice a week.
