" It was the most informative four days of my life and it was great because my best friend Shawna attended as my support partner which brought us closer than we could ever imagine." - Vivian G. CAN DO® Program Alumni
When life throws you a curve ball, setting goals can help you knock that curve ball out of the park. At our four-day CAN DO® Program we ask all the participants to identify what their goals are on the first day of the program and again on the last. When Vivian Gallegos attended our 2012 CAN DO Program in Vail, CO, she had no idea the program would be preparing her for the inevitable curve ball coming her way. Read More

Ask The Can Do Team
Submitted by: Santo R., Living with MS
Question:
Because of the 80-90 degree heat, my body is really having trouble moving, especially walking. I very much would like to stay indoors near a fan. However, I need to go out to address a few chores. What can I do to keep my legs moving? Thanks.
Answer: Kathy SanMartino, PT, NCS, MSCS & Can Do MS Programs Consultant
There are a few things you can try.
- First of all, I'm sure you are being practical in what you wear in terms of clothing i.e., wearing the least amount of clothing and clothing that breathes.
- Bring a cold, non-caffeinated drink with you to cool off your core.
- Try to limit your outings during the hottest parts of the day.
