"Spring makes its own statement, so loud and clear that the gardener seems to be only one of the instruments, not the composer."

 Geoffrey B. Charlesworth

Late last week I received a beautiful photograph of some daffodils blooming in a PROBUS member's garden in Craig Bay. Although, like many snowbirds and PROBUS club members, I am enjoying the warmth of the California desert, it made me long for the beauty of  spring on the island. March can be an interesting month of varied weather but in the spirit of National PROBUS month get out and enjoy the wonderful mild weather, smell the earth and take joy in the beauties of all the new growth. Don't forget to set your clocks ahead for Daylight Savings on Sunday March 8th and celebrate with friends and hoist a glass of green beer on St. Patrick's Day. The spring equinox occurs on March 20th, but spring has already arrived!  All the best, Pam

Social Report     Winter Games Afternoon

There are card sharks and pool sharks among us! The February Winter Games afternoon, serendipiditously held on the fifth year anniversary of the Canada Winter Games, was a great success. The Rocking Horse Pub was the venue and participants tested their skills at darts, pool, and cards.   To find out the final winner and to view some great photos ... Click Here

Behind the Lens

Last month, I erroneously attributed the fabulous photos of the Christmas dinner to Phil Howell rather than to Robert Hartley.  I just wanted to correct that mistake and to congratulate and thank both Robert and Phil on the wonderful job they do in capturing all the fun we have in our meetings and social activities. Their slide shows on the club website provide wonderful memories for us all.  If anyone would like "raw digital copies"of Robert's or Phil's photographs, they will gladly email them to you.  To contact Robert ...Click Here
