Welcome Back! It is a new year and already January has flown by so quickly. It is time to get ready for a busy year of PROBUS activities.Your executive has an amazing programme of interesting speakers and fun-filled events planned. This is the first e-newsletter of the year and it provides a brief glimpse at what the month has in store, with links to the full articles on the PROBUS website, created by our Communications Chair, Judy Love-Eastham.  Please take the time to follow the links to the full articles and all the details about past and future events. Make a note on your calendars of all the interesting speakers coming up this Spring. Most importantly, remember to renew your membership for 2015. Next Meeting- Our Police in Afghanistan- February 6
Join Staff Sgt Scott Warren of the RCMP on February 6, as he describes his mission in Afghanistan to train an Afghan Special Unit in basic police skills. Scott will give us insight into the risks that they faced, the war around them and the people they encountered. "There's a huge population of really good people in Afghanistan - the people we worked with just want their country back," he told the Oceanside Star in April 2014, "But the reality is that everyone in Afghanistan is in danger". ...Read more

Game On!      February Games Afternoon 


It is time for  The Northwest Bay PROBUS Winter Games! Last Meeting Report - Christmas Social
What a wonderful Christmas Social! 
December 5 saw club members arriving in festive "ugly Christmas sweaters", crazy ties, Christmas hats, antlers, twinkling lights and smiles! Christmas entertainment was provided by the vocal group "Just 4 Fun". Prizes were awarded to Linda Burrows for the best sweater and to Grant Foster  for the craziest tie.
