.

Appointments

AP-24-14       Appointment of Lon Powell to the Environmental Matters Commission

Comment: The mayor has nominated Lon Powell, a resident of Ward 3, to the AEC. Among many other accomplishments, Alderwoman Pindell-Charles notes that Mr. Powell is a student in the Anne Arundel County Master Watershed Stewards Academy sponsored by the Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center and that his nomination is supported by the Spa Creek Conservancy and Mt. Olive AME Church to support their efforts in the Riverwise Congregations program. This appointment will first go to the Council's Environmental Matters Committee at 6:30 PM on Monday evening for a review of Mr. Powell's qualifications. I welcome your input and opinions about this appointment. Pending any surprises from that examination or consideration of any issues raised by you or my colleagues, I expect to vote favorably to Mr. Powell's appointment.

PUBLIC HEARINGS

This is your opportunity to state your opinion on how we should vote or amend pending legislation. I generally do not comment on matters up for public hearing; I'd rather learn your thoughts.
