The City Council will meet on Monday, September 30, at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers. This is an additional meeting to the monthly schedule and the only topic on the agenda is the City Dock Master Plan, Resolution R-49-12, for consideration of amendments only.
At the meeting last Monday, the City Council began discussion of a number of amendments to the plan and that process will continue next Monday. These votes on amendments do not mean that the plan as amended is a done deal. We are simply going through the entire plan and incorporating staff recommendations and amendments presented by members of the council based largely on input from constituents. As I said last week, I do not expect the Council to vote on the underlying legislation at this session. Instead, I expect the Council to consider, at a subsequent session this term, a version of the legislation that incorporates the adopted amendments. I support this path and would not vote in favor of this legislation in its current form on Monday. My position on City Dock is on my website. Click here.
