While you're gathering your thoughts on the plans for this new year, think about the fact that more and more homeowners are realizing the great value of garages or sheds. These overlooked areas of our home front are bonus spaces worthy of our attention. If your house seems to need just a little bit more space, garages can easily be transformed into a small wonderland outfitted for organizing and storage systems, work areas or even closed in for additional living space whether it's an extra bedroom, home office, craft or playroom or a mother-in-law apartment. A simple carport could be added on to the side or rear of the house so you could still get the weather protection coming in and out just like you always have.

 

Okay you're right, we didn't build this, but it's a cool garage idea right?

And, if adding onto your existing house is not really what you're looking for, then maybe you would be interested in a detached shed. They're not limited to lawn mowers and tools any more. Sheds can be a detached home office, playroom, guest house or green house. We enjoy making that shed look like it was in the original plan for the house and blend right in to your lot. Shed? What Shed? We've got to come up with a better name!
