  • Thursday, 2/20: vs University of Notre Dame (5:00pm PST at Nelson Wolff Stadium)
  • Friday, 2/21: vs University of the Incarnate Word (2:00pm PST at Nelson Wolff Stadium)
  • Saturday, 2/22: vs Gonzaga University (10:30am PST at Nelson Wolff Stadium)

Bronco Baseball Begins Nine-Game Road Trip with Notre Dame Matchup Thursday in San Antonio
  
 

After five home games to start the season, Bronco baseball hits the road for nine in a row beginning Thu., Feb. 20 with the first game of the Irish Baseball Classic. Santa Clara will square off against the host Notre Dame Fighting Irish Thursday for a 5:00 p.m. PST first pitch from Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.

 

The rest of the weekend features a 2:00 p.m. first pitch Friday against University of the Incarnate Word, 10:30 a.m. first pitch Saturday against Gonzaga, and an opponent to be determined based on record through the first three days for a 9:30 a.m. first pitch Sunday...

Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball: Eric Lex
  
 

Today, Bronco baseball announces the seventh member of its incoming class of freshman for 2014-15, Eric Lex. The right-handed pitcher currently attends Shasta High School in Redding, Calif., about four hours north of the Mission Campus.

 

"I had several offers and opportunities, but Santa Clara was the best choice for me, and it starts with the coaches," Lex said. "The team they are creating is exciting."

Max Deering Helps Lead the Broncos

Max Deering, a senior pitcher finished strong in 2013 after appearing in 33 games. Deering also finished the year tied for the most saves on the team. As his final season approaches, Deering tells Santa Clara Broncos (SCB) that he will look to his teammates to ensure a successful year.

 

SCB: As a senior leader, what would you say your biggest responsibility is this season?

 

MD: As a senior leader, it's important for me to show the younger guys how a Bronco goes about his business on and off the field. One thing that is cool about our program is that leadership roles do not rest solely on the shoulders of the seniors. Everyone on our team can be a leader and it is the responsibility of the whole team to hold themselves and others accountable.
