Bronco Baseball Set to Open Season at Home this Friday

Coming off of a successful first year under new head coach Dan O'Brien and his staff, Santa Clara baseball looks to continue to make strides on the field in 2013. Last year, the Broncos improved by an impressive nine games, going from 17 wins to 26. It was the most wins any of the seniors had experienced and the most since the team won 33 in 2008. "Year one was pretty crazy," said O'Brien. "When I look back at all that was accomplished in such a short period of time, I feel great about our foundation and the future of the program. The biggest difference this year has been the transition from people getting to know us to fully supporting us. Everyone was supportive last year, but now I feel like they're 'on board.' It's an amazing feeling when people all around you are asking how they can help. We can accomplish anything with that kind of attitude and support..."

Greg Harisis Named Preseason All-West Coast Conference

With the start of the season less than two weeks away, Santa Clara baseball had one player named to the Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team Feb. 6. Junior INF/OF Greg Harisis was one of 10 position players honored by the league's coaches. "It's a big honor to make the preseason All-WCC team and be mentioned among some very good players," said Harisis. "I am just hoping to do whatever I can for the team as we strive for the WCC title this season..."

Santa Clara University is happy to announce to all, especially Bronco fans, families, alums and visiting opponents, they can now purchase season and single-game tickets for all SCU baseball games for the upcoming 2013 season. Full-season, general admission seats at SCU Schott Stadium start at just $80 ($50 for youth and seniors). |
