Santa Clara Baseball 2013 Schedule Includes 33 Home Games

The Broncos will host 33 home games at Stephen Schott Stadium in 2013
Looking to build on last season's 26 wins, Santa Clara baseball released its 2013 schedule today. With Bronco head coach Dan O'Brien entering his second season at the helm for the Broncos, Santa Clara is changing game-day times.

O'Brien is changing the traditional start times of 7:00p.m. on Friday and 1:00p.m. on Saturday to a 6:00p.m. start on Friday and 3:00p.m. on Saturday in an attempt to allow more people to make it out to Schott Stadium for games.

"I'm excited about our scheduling this year," said O'Brien. "This year's line-up includes games that were set-up prior to our arrival, but Coach Ribas did a great job rounding it out and continues to develop great relationships throughout the country to ensure a competitive and compelling schedule for years to come."

Sophomore Infielder Matt Glomb Looks Forward to the Upcoming Baseball Season
By Jessica Shusko '15

Sophomore Infielder Matt Glomb

Over the summer, Bronco baseball player Matt Glomb played summer league baseball in Athens, Ohio. The right-handed third basemen had great success over the summer, and was even named the fourth-best prospect in the Great Lakes Summer League. This season, Glomb (MG) hopes to carry over what he has learned over the summer into his second season here for the Broncos.
SCB: Being a Bay Area Native, how did you decide to go all the way to Athens, Ohio for the summer to play baseball?
MG: During the summer almost every college baseball player is sent off to a collegiate league to go play ball. We don't really decide our options on where we will be going since our coaches place us on a team. Last year, I found out half way through the Fall that I would be heading out to Ohio, and I was really excited to go experience something new in a different state, with a completely different culture.
