Birmingham City Schools is here to serve students.  A part of effective service entails recognizing that not all students learn in traditional ways or in traditional learning environments.  That is why providing viable, alternative educational options for students is a growing area of focus for Birmingham City Schools. One such program in the system's transitional bridge program.  Known as Project PASS (Pathway to Achieve Students Success), this program is designed to address the needs of overaged 6th 7th and 8th grade students who have repeated a grade two or more times.  The program includes a rigorous summer curriculum to orient identified students and provides intense academic support to students throughout the school year.
