Keeping Students Safe
Over the past few months, I've talked about Birmingham City Schools' primary commitment to ensure student achievement in a safe, secure and nurturing environment. As a part of that safety and security, we have discussed inclement weather and how we, as a district, make decisions about school closure. We have discussed crisis management, and our district's system wide procedures for addressing various crises or adverse situations. Those things are important, but they only occur on an occasional basis.
