A Message from the Superintendent (1/17/2014)

This past week the state released the cohort graduation rates for 2009-10 through 2012-13. We are proud to announce that the Birmingham City School system improved 9 points from the previous year's measure, moving from 57% to 66%. Of even greater significance, several of our high schools, including Huffman, Jackson-Olin, Wenonah, and Woodlawn high schools, saw double digit increases from the previous year's rates, ranging from 10 to 15 points.
