A Message from the Superintendent (11/8/2013) 

Today, several hundred Birmingham City Schools students were transported to Boutwell Auditorium to attend the third annual Birmingham College Scholarship and Career Fair - a partnership of Birmingham City Schools, Mission Alabama and Infinite Scholar.

 
  
 

BCS spotlight 
librarian at Green Acres Middle School for seven years has received the recognition she deserves for her great work.  She is the 2013 recipient of the Herman Moore LAMP Award.

to witness what many are calling a new era for Birmingham City Schools. Notable of the many speakers was student from Lewis Elementary.  The fifth-grade student, Israel Torres, led the charge for the event.  He pleaded with the new board saying, "We're counting on you for your leadership.
