This week, I finished the first round of advisory committee meetings with teachers, parents, and students. We started earlier this year to be sure to include time for research and implementation. As always, I look forward to these opportunities.
On Monday September 23rd, Birmingham Education Foundation (BEF) and Birmingham Coca-Cola Bottling Company had its premiere College 101 program event for the Huffman High School 10th and 11th graders. The event took place at the Huffman High School auditorium and was hosted by none other than the popular 95.7 Jamz radio personality Jermaine "Funny Maine" Johnson.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students either achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements toward those standards.
Presented by the Autism Society of Alabama, the Birmingham City School's Special Education Department in collaboration with University of Alabama at Birmingham Autism Specialist Program.
