January 2013
The past year ushered in some extraordinary changes for CCAM. We moved into our new 62,000 square-foot manufacturing facility, we welcomed new research managers - doubling our total number of full time employees in 2012, and we brought on new members. We started the year as guests of Rolls-Royce's Crosspointe Development Team, were hosted by VSU for the summer and finally found a home at CCAM on September 10th. We moved into a building still bustling with activity as the contractor installed the finishing touches and the building systems were brought online. We have commissioned equipment for metrology, machining, additive manufacturing and coatings. We have a characterization lab and a materials prep lab and more equipment on the way. CCAM currently has ~$2M in ongoing research and we are hosting 5 top notch interns representing all of our members universities. We are pleased to introduce you to our newest members below and hope you stay tuned - more announcements are on the way!
