Greetings!

Spring is in bloom at Penn Forest!

We continue to work on our forest restoration at the cemetery. We have had two successful restoration work days where our amazing volunteers cleared out brush and invasive species.

Things are beginning to shape up and we would love to have you come out have tour the property now that the weather is breaking.  If you are interested in stopping by, call or email me to setup a date and time or just stop by and explore on your own!

In this newsletter please enjoy recent pictures, updates on upcoming events and recent pieces from our blog.  Feel free to follow the links to the blog and leave feedback and comments there.  We appreciate hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Penn Forest Is Now GBC Certified

We received Green Burial Council certification earlier this year.  We are proud to be added to the list of certified providers of green burial services.

The Oakmont-Plum Patch covered our announcement of the news.  Read the article here.

You can also visit the Green Burial Council to browse their 'Finding a Provider' directory, which is where you will find our listing.

Restoration Work Days

We have had two successful work days at Penn Forest so far this year.  Both events were held from 9 am to 1 pm on a Saturday.  The volunteers did a great job removing debris, brush and invasive plants and weeds.  Our next work day will be held on Saturday, April 21 from 9 am - 1 pm.

A Working Tractor

Jeff Giles, our next door neighbor, tireless volunteer and dear friend, fixed up our previously 'not in working order' tractor and cart. He charged the battery, cleaned the carburetor and filled the tires.

We are happy to report that it now runs like brand new!  We plan to use it for grass-cutting, hauling, even coffin transport as it has a five speed transmission and can go very slowly when needed.

Jeff has been a great friend to Penn Forest and we thank him for being so giving and helpful!
